April 22, 2016 – Online Business Systems (Online), a business and technology consultancy that designs and implements complex
, secure information systems, is very proud to have been recognized as one of the “Best Workplaces in Canada” for the 10th consecutive year and one of the “Best Workplaces for Women” for the 5th consecutive year.
“Participating in this process is very important for our company,” said Chuck Loewen, Online’s Founder and CEO. “Placing
on the lists tells us that Onliners recognize that we are constantly working at improving what we do and how we do it. If we as a company aren’t growing and changing, how can we expect our team members to grow and have fulfilling careers?”
The Best Workplaces lists are compiled by Great Place to Work Institute Canada and, along with related stories, appear in a special national report in today’s The Globe and Mail. The competition process is based on two criteria: two-thirds of the total score comes from a 58-statement survey completed by employees, along with their open-ended comments about their organization; the remaining one-third of the score comes from an in-depth review of the organization’s culture, including an evaluation of HR policies and practices.
“Online is celebrating 30 years in business this year, and being a great workplace has enabled us to attract and retain the best talent,” continued Loewen.
Online’s leadership team reviews and analyzes the survey results and works closely with the company’s People Care (HR) team throughout the year to bring about positive change.

About Great Place to Work
We are a research and consulting firm whose mission is to build a better society by helping companies transform their workplaces. Through proprietary assessment tools, advisory services, and employer branding programs, including workplace certification and Best Workplaces lists, Great Place to Work® provides the benchmarks, framework, and expertise needed to create, sustain, and recognize outstanding workplace cultures. In Canada, Great Place to Work produces the annual 100 Best Workplaces list, released in a national feature in the Globe and Mail. This is part of the world’s largest annual workplace study, which culminates in a series of national lists in almost 50 countries, including the study’s flagship list of 100 Best companies published annually in Fortune magazine. Globally, this survey represents the voices of 11 million employees, including approximately 300,000 from Canada alone. It’s what makes this study so credible: the primary determinant used in selecting winners is an employee survey. There’s only one way to get on this list – and that’s if your employees put you there.
